Philadelphia Area Acupuncturist Offers Free Treatments For Cancer Patients
Local acupuncturist and founder of Wayne Family Wellness, Lance Isakov, is offering free acupuncture to cancer patients suffering with pain, emotional upsets, and/or other side effects from their treatment. The free acupuncture program will function like a scholarship award and 2 selected applicants per quarter will receive a round of 12 treatments.
Acupuncture applies needles, heat, pressure, and other techniques to one or more specific places or points on the skin. In patients with cancer, acupuncture is used to relieve pain, to help ease fear, anxiety, stress, and help with other symptoms that will improve quality of life. There is strong evidence from recent clinical trials, for example, that acupuncture relieves nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy.
“My intention is to be in service to my community as part of my practice,” says Isakov, "to not only help those suffering but to also help spread the word about how beneficial acupuncture can be for helping with the pain and emotional roller coaster ride that comes with cancer and its treatments.”
Mr. Isakov has practiced acupuncture for 15 years and holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from The Maryland University of Integrative Health and is a Diplomate of Acupuncture with The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Mr. Isakov is also a faculty supervisor for the acupuncture student clinic at The Won Institute, in Glenside, PA . Mr. Isakov is published author and has had numerous health related articles in local publications. He is also the author of Five Element Acupuncture & You, A Modern Guide to an Ancient Healing Art.
Mr. Isakov currently has a private practice at Wayne Family Wellness. a Holistic Acupuncture Center with adjunct services such as Therapeutic Massage and Energy-work, located on the mainline in Wayne, PA.
