Savoring the precious beauty as we let go

Hi beautiful people,

Hope you are having (had) a fantastic weekend! Where I am in Phoenixville, PA - the trees are really shining their colorful glory this year! Are they shining near you too?

I love how, as the energy descends into the roots to prepare for winter & rejuvenation -- before the great letting go -- there is a burst, a revelation of the true beauty hidden in the leaves.

What a powerful reminder of that exquisite, precious moment that is part of the grief process. The acknowledgement of the preciousness of life and the revelation of the authentic beauty.

I have been thinking a lot of my dear friend Rebecca, who passed away at a way too young age from cancer a few years ago. I remember the weeks and days before her passing, how brilliantly her eyes shone (In acupuncture we call that Shen --Heart Spirit), and how her energy just radiated - magnetically drawing in the people around her. Her love palpable.

This was the revelation of her truth, her burst of beautiful colors. And I though I sorely miss my beloved Rebecca, that burst of her true color will remain with me, and hopefully shine through me, a gift for others.

I believe this is true for that which we are consciously choosing to let go of, not only the loss of a beloved.

This autumn, as the trees let go, we have an opportunity to reflect on what we are ready to let go of, what no longer serves us. Maybe its a habit or behavior that no longer serves, maybe it's an object that is just taking up space, or maybe we just want to create more room for new possibilities in our life.

My wish for you, as you let go of that which no longer serves, is that you have an opportunity to deeply take in that special burst of beauty, that precious revelation of truth, the gift that that habit, behavior, or thing brought you.

And once the mourning process is further along (because I personally don't think it ever truly ends), what remains, shining through you is the Shen, the gift, the medicine of what you have released.
