Carey Vickers, M.S., Licensed Acupuncturist
Carey Vickers, M.S., L.Ac.
Licensed Acupuncturist,
I am a Pennsylvania-licensed acupuncturist. I earned my Master of Science degree with honors in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, where I received extensive training in three styles of acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine; Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), which integrates classical acupuncture with modern myofascial trigger point therapies; and Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese acupuncture (KM). I am also a trained in the Mei Zen style of cosmetic acupuncture.
My journey to acupuncture has been one of self-discovery. A near-death experience as a child and my family's adoption of my brother, who came from Vietnam with profound injuries from the war, left lasting impressions on my life. Later I had a personal health crisis that caused recurring episodes of neuralgia, leaving me with a deep sympathy for others suffering from intense chronic pain. From my life’s experiences, and coming to the realization that matters of health and wellness have always been present and foremost in my life, I feel it is my life's fulfillment to help others.

Spring Reset! This may sound a little too contrived to be authentic, but it is authentic! If you're like me - let's say right after winter, feeling a little sluggish after too much wine and comfort food, a tad bit depressed....nothing terrible, just kind of going through the motions? Well, that was me before I walked into a community acupuncture treatment with Carrie yesterday. She patiently listened to my laundry list of mental, physical and spiritual afflictions. Forget about the instant calm I felt during the treatment. Today I jumped out of bed eager to tackle the plethora of mundane household tasks I'd put off all winter and instead, at the top of my game!!!!!!. Seriously, it's the best $45 you will ever spend. Let's face it, you'd spend it on your car if it was sluggish. Aren't you worth at least as much as your car????? - bela ligosi

Been going to VW since it opened over 20 years ago. The experiences have been no less than amazing. However over the past 3-4 community acupuncture treatments the unimaginable has happened. Somehow it was detected that my scalp was really really tight! So, as requested, Gabrielle and Carey have been treating for a more relaxed scalp. Miraculously, my gorgeous locks, which have been thinning during my 60th decade, have blossomed and my hair is as thick as it was decades ago!!!!!!! (Makes sense - tight scalp - reduced blood flow - less hair). Just sayin' - if you're struggling with hair loss, acupuncture may be able to cure that too!!!! - bela ligosi

Carey is a wonderful acupuncturist ! Even though appointments are only one hour, she will take the necessary time to target all areas needing attention! 5 stars! - Gloria Lopez-Pesini

I haven’t done a lot of acupuncture yet. Just starting it. However, the times I’ve done it, Carey has been phenomenal. She really cares and, I believe, is really good about knowing where to place the needles based upon the conditions I’ve told her. I’m going to continue for now and see how this all plays out. - Scott Davidson

Acupuncture (1:1 and group): What true TLC - thank you - beyond words!! I already have my next appointment with Carey!! - Megan Zug

I decided to try acupuncture rather than another round of PRP for my post-torn rotator cuff, bursitis, arthritic shoulder pain and restriction. I was shocked to see it resolve in about 4 visits with Carey.
Additionally, I have had migraines for 40 years. Previous treatments of every type, including acupuncture, never resolved them. I have now had 90% fewer and 85% less painful migraines than I have had in 40 years.
Carey is a master in her craft, with a profound respect for the history and art of acupuncture. She understands the musculature structure so is quickly able to diagnose and treat referring pain. When I think my neck pain is only from a neck muscle, she finds the back muscles that are in spasms and treats both (for example).
I have found my person for as long as she is in practice.
Thank you, Carey, for your gifts. I feel so fortunate to have found you.

Village Wellness has a lot to offer, not just acupuncture. Their services are great and they also have some really good adjunct services. The other week I attended a yoga and gong sound bath evening. So much fun! Lance is great!! -Terri Freeman

I saw Carey at Village Wellness this week because I threw my back out. Again. In addition to “regular” acupuncture (I’m sure there is an appropriate term, but I don’t know what it is!), she is also a master at trigger point therapy! She uses acupuncture, guasha and cupping to unlock my muscles, relive my pain and get me up and going again. I highly recommend VW & Carey to anyone thinking about acupuncture! -Karen Park

This was my first experience at the center and my first experience with acupuncture. The whole experience was outstanding. Carey took her time listening and asking questions. She thoroughly explained the procedure to me and during it she frequently asked if I was comfortable and ok. I have already scheduled my next two appointments with her. I would highly recommend the center. - Ann Char

★★★★★
Carey is incredible. I love absolutely everything about Village Wellness, and she even surpasses my 5 star review of this amazing place. I give her 10 stars for her care and concern and how she goes above and beyond in every way to help me heal. I love Gabrielle’s accupuncture as well—she is also soo incredible. She has helped me regain the numbness in one of my fingers. I recently went to see Gabrielle feeling very stuck and left feeling amazing. I could feel the unwinding in my body! Can’t go wrong with anyone here, in my opinion. I have seen Lance as well, he integrates so many modalities into one amazing experience! - Suzanne G.

I have been going to village wellness for some time now and I cannot praise this place highly enough. My acupuncturist is very dedicated and concerned about my well-being. I have greatly benefited from her care. Also, the people that work there are very friendly, when I met them before Covid. At this point, they take every precaution necessary to keep their clients and themselves safe. Highly recommend - Sabine Kroese
