Kidney 13 - Door of Infants - An Acupuncture Point for Empowering Fertility, Regulating Menstruation, & Accessing your 'inner child'
One of the biggest rewards over the course of my acupuncture career is the gift of being alongside my patients' journey to having a baby. Acupuncture can be sooooo helpful to empower conception, aid in pregnancy-related upsets, help through the birthing process, it can even help turn a baby from a breech position! And, of course, help mama post-partum as well!
This beautiful and nourishing point came from a request from one of our soon-to-be mama's going through the IVF process. It also has an amazing use on the Spirit Level. See below for the whole scoop!

Door of Infants (AKA Uterus Gate, Qi Cave) - KI 13
Meeting point of the Kidney channel with the Conception vessel
Physical Level Indications:
empowers conception and birth
Amenorrhoea, irregular menstruation, uterine bleeding, leucorrhoea
Difficult urination, incessant diarrhea, abdominal pain, running piglet qi, rushing sensation up and down the lumbar spine, lumbar pain, redness of the eye originating at the inner canthus.
Emotional/Mental
Helps to access our “inner child”
Helps to restore memories from early childhood
Spirit Level
This point can be a powerful access point to early childhood experiences and help to heal fears and trauma from infancy.
Location:
On the lower abdomen, 3 cun (width of 4 fingers) below the umbilicus, 2 cun superior to the superior border of the symphysis pubis, 0.5 cun (half the width of your thumb) lateral to the midline.
note: cun = anatomical inches, an inch that is relative to your body
How to Stimulate:
You can stimulate this point by gently massaging it directly with your finger for 30 seconds or until you are inspired to take a deep breath.
